A peaceful and prosperous future depends on the empowerment of women and girls. Thirty years ago, at the International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo, 179 countries agreed that this was the right thing to do and the necessary path forward for sustainable global development. 

In a ground-breaking initiative, the Ministry of Social Action, Family, and Promotion of Women, in collaboration with UNFPA leading the UN, and civil society partners, organised a traveling caravan under the 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence to shed light and tackle harmful practices affecting women and girls.

As part of the celebration of African Youth Day, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, through the Youth Institute, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and youth organisations, held the celebration of African Youth Day on 01 and 02 November.
