UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, today donated coronavirus prevention materials to the Ministry of Public Health through the Regional Health Directorate of the Autonomous Sector of Bissau as part of efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in Guinea-Bissau.

 

 

The batch of material consists of 10 wash hands devices with pedal; 500 protective masks; and 50 posters to raise awareness of pregnant women on the correct use of masks.

 

 

The materials are destined for public and private health centers, pre-selected in coordination with the Regional Health Directorate of the Autonomous Sector of Bissau, namely:

 

  • Simão Mendes Hospital Maternity unit;
  • Cumura Hospital Maternity unit;
  • Antula Health Center;
  • Jean Piaget University (Clinical Analysis Unit);
  • Bandim Health Center;
  • Céu e Terra clinic;
  • Military Hospital;
  • Maternal and Child Center;
  • Renato Grandi Clinic;
  • Plack 2 Health Center;

 

The act of delivery took place at the premises of the Regional Health Directorate of the Autonomous Sector of Bissau at the hospital 03 de Agosto.
